Which Age Group?

Teams
All teams are co-ed. Each U6 team will play 3 v 3 games. Each U7 team will play 4 v 4. The number of players on the team roster is restricted to make sure that each player plays at least half of every game. Players are assigned to a team with children from all of San Rafael. We cannot guarantee friend requests. The teams will be organized in mid August.

Games/Practices
Games and practices begin on Saturday, September 11th through Saturday, October 30th. (except 9/11) Parents must arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and find their coach and team. This will allow your child to be able to warm up and be ready for the training session and the game that follows.

SATURDAYS
Under 6 at 9 am– 10:30 am
Under7 at11am–12:30pm

TEAMS
The U8 , U9 and10 teams are gender specific, boys and girls. Under 8’s play 5 versus 5, with a maximum of 9 players per roster. Under 9 and Under 10 teams play 8 versus 8 on a larger field with larger goals than the younger age groups. Players are assigned to teams with children from all over San Rafael. We cannot guarantee friend or school requests. The teams will be drafted in early August.

PRACTICES
Each team will have two mid-week practices. The first is a TEAM practice day, time and location of practice is determined by each individual coach and based on available space at San Rafael City School fields. Practices START the week of August 23rd at SR school fields.

GAMES
Games begin the weekend of Saturday, September 11th through Saturday, October 30th. Games are played on Saturdays – schedule varies between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Note: The first Saturday, September 11th, games might be scheduled for SUNDAY, September 12th due to the parade. It is a SRYSC club rule that all players play one half of each game. We do not tolerate any violations of this rule. 50% play per child is main reason for restricting the amount of players per team.

Under 12 is the first time teams travel outside San Rafael to play other clubs. SRYSC plays inter-league with Ross Valley, Dixie, Mill Valley, Tiburon, Novato and West Marin. Our SRYSC teams are comprised of experienced and new players, U11 and U12 players, (U13 and U14 combined) from all neighborhoods of San Rafael and are intentionally mixed to create evenly balanced teams within San Rafael. There will be both home and away games. Sat and Sundays.

TEAMS
The U12/U14 teams are gender specific. Under 12/14 teams play 11 v 11 on a larger field with larger goals. Rosters have maximums that allow the opportunity for everyone to play 50% of every game. Teams will be drafted in late July. Players are assigned to teams with children from all over San Rafael. We cannot guarantee friend or school requests.

PRACTICES

One is a TEAM practice day, time and location of practice is determined by each individual coach and based on available space at San Rafael City School fields. The second is a clinic format. Practices START the week of August 23rd at SR schools and Pickleweed Park.

INTER LEAGUE GAMES
Games begin the weekend of Saturday, September 11th through Saturday, October 30th. Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays – schedule varies between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (available after Labor Day) Games are played at school fields throughout Marin County. Coaches will give you directions to ‘away game’ fields.

Tournament Weekends
Tournaments are scheduled for weekends of October 30/31 and November 6/7. Rain weekend is Nov 13/14th. For complete U12 / U14 information or information in Spanish, please click the link below.

U6 through U10
The SRYSC uniform consists of a royal blue and white reversible shirt with the SRYSC logo, matching blue shorts and royal blue soccer socks. All players must wear hard plastic shin guards under their socks. (no baseball cleats)

U12 and up
NEW UNIFORMS**
The NEW SRYSC U12 – HS uniform consists of a new design royal blue jersey with the SRYSC logo, matching blue shorts and royal blue soccer socks. All players must have a number, it does not matter what number it is, T&B will iron it on for free.

All players must wear hard plastic shin guards under their socks. (no baseball cleats)

Recycled Uniforms
Please drop off used cleats, uniforms, and shin guards at 59 Rafael Drive, front porch - near Coleman, Dominican area. If you need a uniform, please stop by and take what fits your child, leave what you don’t need. FREE!!!!
